Artist Statement

I gave up painting sometime around 2012 when I downloaded images from a cheap digital camera and became fascinated by how they had become inadvertently glitched. Having discovered the work of Philip Stearns through a mutual friend I started circuit bending web cams and digital cameras and working with video. Soon after that I joined Glitch artists collective on Facebook and I've been an active member since . My work at the moment is based around the use of obsolete or obscure operating systems on older computers and graphics cards which are often charity shop finds or trash picked ( through necessity and perversity) to find flaws ( features) in video players such as vlc , kmplayer and quickplay or Xorg which render video wrongly ( rightly) depending on codec, graphics card, chipset and cpu used. I believe in accessibility and sharing of methodology, am anti art-establishment, anti pay to play, pro open source and creative commons.
